TOPIC: Canvas A Neighborhood

This search provides both businesses and consumers within a specific geographic area.

To add the geographic area you would like to target expand the Geographic Area section. Once expanded you will be presented with the option to choose your search type:

Canvasing

  • Geographic Search - chosen by default, allows one to search by zip code
  • Radius / MAP Search - allows one to enter a house number and zip code and search by radius or by plotting on a map
Geographic Search
  • Zip Code – Input the zip codes to be targeted in the open fields. You may enter one zip code at a time and/or a range of zip codes.

Radius / MAP Search

Once you choose to do a radius / map search you will be presented with a house number and zip code entry fields:

Radius

Enter House Number: You must match the house number exactly to return a result. If the address is 405 West Nebraska Street you should enter 405.

Once you click NEXT a pop-up box will appear with your Radius Search Records (see below). If a result has been found you will select that result and click CONTINUE. If not you will need to CANCEL the popup and retry your search.

Once you have a result you will have the choice to do a radius search for records around that address OR to view a map with that result plotted with the ability to plot areas around that to target:

  • Radius – To target prospects within a certain radius of a set point, choose the distance from the primary address that will be included in the search. Distance will be measured in miles and will create a circle around the primary address with a radius of the selected distance.
  • Map – For advanced targeting, choosing map will open a mapping program with the choice of:
    1. Freeform Plotting – Place as many pins as need in desired locations to create a perimeter for the search. The area within the pinpoints then determines the geographic area from which records are selected
    2. Circle Plotting – Use this tool to draw a circular perimeter around the primary address. Records will be drawn from this selected geographic area.

Use Freeform Plotting to exclude neighborhoods that you have no interest in targeting.
