Could organizational issues stifle a small business?

A recent Office Depot study, the Small Business Index, found that organization - or a lack of - can be a drain on small businesses.
According to the index, 75 percent of small business owners wish their offices were more organized, 27 percent hate organizing their offices and 21 percent said that office organization was the "top issue that hinders their ability to focus on business growth."
Business owners involved in the survey said that having more time (57 percent), more tools (39 percent) or an organizational expert (14 percent) would help them get their offices under control.
However, these solutions may not be realistic for some entrepreneurs. When budgets are tight, it may be difficult to invest in organizational tools or expert guidance, and there is seemingly never enough time in the day to accomplish everything that needs to get done.
What business owners must do is realize how important organization can be in regards to the physical state of the business, as well as their own mental health. Time must be set aside for organization. Perhaps, if a business is in a particular state of disarray, it might even be worth closing up shop for a day to put some sweat equity into organizational efforts. From that day forth, the business will likely run smoother. All that is needed is consistent, yet minimal upkeep.
