Marketing strategies key to business growth in 2012

For businesses looking to improve sales, grow their ventures and increase customer relations, developing a well-rounded marketing strategy is key. Inc. magazine reports that for 2012, entrepreneurs should consider revamping their marketing campaigns to breathe new life into their businesses.
Marketing strategies should be constantly evolving and changing entities, as the needs and wants of a consumer base are also consistently fluid. What worked in 2010 or 2011 may not pack the same punch in 2012, so business owners should really sit down and think about how they want their brands to be communicated to customers and potential clients.
The new year also provides business owners with the opportunity to diversify marketing strategies. Using one marketing channel is like painting with just one color. For the consumer who likes that color, the paint is appealing, but what about for the many customers who don't like it? Spreading out marketing dollars to include platforms such as direct mailing lists, print advertising, pay-per-click conversions and radio ads helps business owners enhance their proverbial color palettes.
Dave Lavinsky, a business growth and financial expert, suggested to the news source that entrepreneurs try a new marketing channel each month to discern which platforms were profitable and which didn't quite hit the mark.
